TAMKO Titan XT® · storm performance

What a 160 MPH wind warranty looked like after Milton.

We install Titan XT® as a TAMKO Pro Certified Contractor. This page links to the case studies TAMKO published after the last three major Florida storms and spells out the warranty terms behind them, including the part most roofers skip: the warranty does not cover hurricanes.

Published case studies

Three storms, same result in TAMKO's photos.

Hurricane Milton · October 2024

Tampa Bay, Florida

TAMKO’s case study collects contractor reports and side-by-side photos from the Tampa Bay area after Milton, showing Titan XT roofs intact next to other brands that lost shingles.

Hurricane Ian · September 2022

Southwest Florida

Contractors in the Ian zone reported Titan XT installations that needed no re-roof or repair after Category 4 winds, while neighboring roofs failed. TAMKO published the photos and interviews.

These studies were written and published by TAMKO Building Products. We link to them rather than reproduce them. Hurricane Helene (September 2024) is referenced in the Milton study.

The caveat, in TAMKO's own words

TAMKO’s limited warranty does not cover hurricanes. Storm results show how the product has performed; they are not a guarantee. The wind warranty covers properly installed shingles up to 160 MPH under TAMKO's High Wind Application instructions; hurricanes are excluded from the limited warranty itself. Ask us for the full warranty document before you sign, and we'll walk through it with you.
